Most yoga mats are manufactured with polyvinyl chloride, or PVC.
PVC is inexpensive and offers great gripping properties to mats. (I know I don’t want to be sliding around during my poses.) However, PVC has been listed by many organizations as the “most toxic plastic” currently in use.
In addition, toxic chemicals including: phthalates (endocrine disruptors) are added to the PVC to make the mats soft and pliable. We are exposed to these chemicals, on our mats, by breathing in these chemicals and by simple skin contact.
Can you imagine the toxic exposure the workers who help produce these mats come under?
There is no safe way to destroy yoga mats made with PVC!
Blisscloud was conceived when I couldn't find a mat that was beautiful and also ECO.
I didn't want to be lying on a mat that was full of chemicals or breathing in nasties.
Blisscloud mats are made with 100% natural tree rubber, with a microfibre top layer. No chemicals or nasties and printed with water based inks.
Yoga, or whatever practice you do, is your time to pause and breathe.
And on a deeper level (I am a bit of a hippy at heart) the vibration of things you surround yourself with is important. That's why I wanted Blisscloud mats to be vibrationally high and sent to you radiating love and ready to inspire you..
..have I lost you? You'll just have to try one to see ;)
Blisscloud yoga mats are made with love. x
Morgan found yoga 15 years ago as a way to recover from anorexia. It has carried her through her PhD, raising twin girls and in a move towards her passion she chose to pursue full time yoga teaching in 2012. Since then she has led several yoga retreats, co-owned a yoga studio (Yoga-on-Tay) and helped to develop a 'yoga for amputees' program along with Finding Your Feet (FYF) Charity. When she is not yoga-ing, or parenting Morgan competes for Scotland in ultra distance running and cross country. Morgan believes that yoga is for everyone.
